Ya gotta admit it, just gotta love Stella

She's an original character !

She could be the ancestor of a great homestead breed !

That is some egg Mary, a real ouchie !

The chicken house now has lights, bats on the board seams, starting the outside run this week after its gone over for sure and guaranteed tight .

Well, the egg turned out to be a fertile single yolker. Just one big yolk. That would have been one massive chick! If I get another one it is going in the incubator for sure. Here it is next to a large egg.

Hindsight is 20/20 so I did what I needed to do.

Well I sure am enjoying Íslenka landnámshænan! Today I was sitting on a five gallon pale in their pen and in five minutes all 4 in the pen were roosting on me! I had read that they prefer to avoid people, I guess not.
