Icelandic Chickens

Michelle that is one seriously beautiful roo !!

Mary your big boy is great looking but I prefer the first former chipmunk one, he looks very much like Bjorn who looks better every day although younger.

Its for sure that we cant rule any of them out they develop so fast and change so much.

Its sloppy wet here, rained again last night more coming, but the Icelandics came out anyway, they had a lot of time in the chicken house yesterday.

This morning was a little different though, the pullets usually come up to check me out, looking for goodies but this morning almost all of the roos did too, Issison particularly came up and stood there for a couple mins looking at me and 'talking', very handsome guy, I wasnt sure what he was saying, but it was friendly, then Blau came over and he verbalized a bit, while several of the other younger roos came up and sorta listened, then Bjorn came over, standing beside me and watching Blau, it was all kind of comical, and unusual from their usual morning start in the run. I am really wondering now just how much actual verbalization that they can do. This morn was like a bunch of guys stopping to chat on a street corner. Neat !!

Interesting thoughts on a wet morn.

The Contessa gave me one of those wee little eggs too, again it would have fit in a soda bottle cap. She has been laying about 5-6 eggs a week so far. They are getting larger then a small working towards a medium. They are all getting laying mash now. I am expecting more to start next month and the month after.

Michelle that big black and silver roo is really something, I havent seen one quite like him to date, he is outstanding. Your black girl is too ! The Contessa is that black, with gold 'wire'lacing on the cape feathers, very elegant.

Artur for his name?

Life is very good, and better with Icelandics and Goats !
