Icelandic Chickens

*gulp* Sir BarfsAlot just lobbied to watch Pucca, "Because my wittle sisto wikes it!"

[Laree frantically searches around for extra girl-child. Husband looks horrified and worried]

Here is a close-up of Brynhilder, one of my favorite pullets from this year!

I think I have a couple that look similar to your quail girls, too! Lovely birds, and great pictures!

Thanks Kathy! Your good morning picture prompted me to post the "quail girls"...I hope they end up looking like your "good morning" girl on the left. She kind of reminds me of Lindsay Lohan with the tussled look and reddish "mane"!!

So, Laree, when is the great day /week ??

Your ugly chicks remind me of a puli with a bad hair day. Only theirs is forever.

You get extra points in heaven for liking them.

Jake, She LOVES the chickens!! My daughter took a video of feeding the flock treats when they were up here in May and it's Katelyn's favorite thing to watch. On this visit, the first thing she'd do each morning after waking was point to the door and say "go", wanting to go to the yard and watch the flock. Hopefully, she will inherit these Icelandics someday!!!

Thats wonderful Mary, start her early with good memorys of Grandma's chickens, that is just exactly how I started, carrying the egg basket as early as I could, and talking to the hens when I reached under them for eggs.

She really is a little beauty !

65 here this morn and the sun is shining, I am counting down the days now, 22 to the great exodus. Looking forward to it but still much to do. This week I will get the trailer licensed, next weekend the garage sale for the tools and msc. I amnot taking, friday get the interstate health papers for the goats, something every day. Gotta get ammo so I can be a gun toting redneck. The sign is coming along, background is bright circus red, which should stand out nicely from the dark cabin stain of the trailer.

It is tempting to take more time but got a lot of things to do out there before the heavy snow comes, the cabin can get snowed in. I have to lay in hay and feed and some vittles for me. Plus firewood. Its going to be a busy month when I get there. After mid Oct anything can happen, and may well.
