re: newfie visit - maybe the color is off on my monitor but the invading Newf pup looks dark red & white.(Irish setter red) Landseers should only be white and brown or white and black. This isn't to say unorthodox colors don't occur and are usually labeled "rare" so they can get more $$$ for them. Like parti colored poodles or doxies, or solid white german shepherds, or RED labradors etc. etc. I'm no all breed expert but, I used to show and breed dogs and was an assistant to a very busy dog handler. We would sit around late to watch the group judging of the top winners and get to know other breeders/handlers as well as see the top dogs face to face..

Newfies generally have great personalities but, that doesn't mean every one does. I've seen some kept more like a junk yard dog and mean as heck. Neighbors had a huge black male who was usually wandering loose with a good three feet of broken chain hanging from his collar. I used to do alot of walking at 2:30 or 3:30 am and saw this huge black shadow coming towards me - I was sure it was a bear. Before I could manage a stroke or heart failure, the black shadow passed under a street light. I was mighty relieved to see it was the newf. He escorted me on half of my walk and I felt like "nothing can hurt me now." I was sorry when he deserted and went back home.

Mary, I hope you put the fainting goats on youtube, it would go viral in seconds. I have to save it and show my brother tomorrow. He doesn't know about exotic animals like chickens, emus or fainting goats.

Oh ! kathy isnt at work !

All this time away, and her first question here is 'doesnt jake owe us some pictures' ???

Its raining, cant do pictures, Next year maybe. Or the year after.

Sasquatch stole the camera. He lives just over the mtn.

Thats my story, prove it otherwise.

That sounds cool, at least you had that 'bodyguard' for a while!
On my monitor, the pup looks a wonderful chocolate, and yes, they are making them all colors now, with Landseer B&W or Black solid the old norm.

I think those goats would keep me laughing so hard that I would not get much work done!!

I just had a sheriff's car & an ambulance go by, sirens coming closer & closer & then fading off in the distance..and all my tom turkeys went ballistic gobbling!!!!
It was as if they thought it was some BIG turkeys coming..like when a dog howls at sirens?
My turkeys gobble at sirens.....

This is my brother's Landseer, Miss Eva (

) she has regular 'spa' days so is always clipped & groomed.
She is the most awesome dog.she has even tried to rescue swimming people (that were screaming & splashing as if drowning) they are bred for that.
They are absolutely amazing , albeit, big slobbering & WET! dogs.
Miss Eva lives in the stock barn, in the hay...is she cool or what??
Not cool when she has eaten a tennis shoe though!!!!!!!!!!!!!
