My DH has decided to do the same, after trying black powder first and almost blowing an entire block up!!

I am going for the propane type.
We have black wood rats here, tame as heck & look like Mickey Mouse, short nose & all.
DH shot one eating blackberries yesterday, with the .410.
Other than that, we are infested with gophers, who LOVE the giant worm snakes we have here.
So far, he is outside & not ordering me back to bed...

Before I go, also want to add, I envy your nice dry pens....we are inundated with monsoons here, and snow soon....mud everywhere.
hens backs are all muddy..will make the next show a horror.

Thanks for the compliments. The Icelandics are so photogenic it makes taking pics of them easy!
We live in a beautiful area and we have very moderate weather the majority of the year. If the winters weren't so long, it would be paradise!! The leaves you see are mostly oak and hickory. I use the blower/vac and bag them to use on the coop floor in the winter. The chickens love scratching around in them and they're my kind of bedding.....FREE.....if you don't count the work it takes to collect them!! But....that's when I take my pictures...during the breaks!
Off to bed.....I hope everyone has a great week!!

Wow Kathy, when I do my chick order this spring, can I get a couple of lavs? They are breathtaking.

BTW... the SLW only lays like once a week, BUT the eggs are HUGE. The NH lays about 2 to 3 times a week.

Boston and his dad came by last Wednesday evening and they both commented on how beautiful the SLW is.

My NH has a tiny comb and wattles.. .is that normal for them or do they keep growing? I love her orange hackles. for a while I thought it might be a roo, but one afternoon two or three weeks ago I watched her lay an egg.

My Ams are very sweet and 4 of the 7 love to have their muffs tickled.
