Icelandic Chickens

I have a concern about one of the Icelandic roos that I got from Crossroad, his comb started out upright, but each day it got floppier, and now it is almost covering his eye, is that ok? I was going to keep him for breeding, since the other roo of the same coloring "might" have wry tail. The one that "might" have wry tail is confusing me too, sometime the tail is upright, and other times its off on one side. I had my Sister-in Law take some pictures of him, and I am waiting for her to send me the pictures for clarification.

Daron, The highlighted part above is the proof he doesn't have wry tail. Those with wry tail will have the tail crooked to the same side all the time. I think it was CL who mentioned the same thing with her youngsters. Their tails grow quickly and they are unbalanced sometimes so carry their tails in different positions alot. I noticed some of this with mine but none have wry tail. I'm still looking forward to seeing your SIL's pictures though!!!

Thanks Mary and Kelly! I am hoping she's my first mottled chick born here at NotAFarm!! Elska means "love, sweetheart, honey, darling"...DD #2 picked out her name as soon as I told her I thought she was a she! You'll probably be seeing lots of pics of her in the future.

.......and speaking of pics........here is Dama (means Lady)...hatched July 30/31 by Asta. She's as white as can be (but in some light, like the first pic, has almost a bit of a lemon yellow tinge here and there) and is quite the looker!! Note the single comb with the crook like I mentioned on Elska.

Correct.
It was about 2 weeks later that all their tails were straight again.
They just have to grow into their tails.
And I think the floppy comb is OK too..gives them character !

I was about to grab my camera & take pics of the 6 Bantam Barnies I recently got.....then remembered the camera has been packed with DH.....He is off to NorCal tomorrow AM bright & early!
I will have a long very quiet week here in the woods completely alone.
Hope my knee behaves itself!

OMG, your white girl looks like a fraternal twin of Jake's hairy legged boy, minus the hairy legs of course. Ok, I have to go drag him in for a picture.

This one I am worried might have the feathering issue or it is slower to get it's feathers.
