Icelandic Chickens

I can't wait to see them in your bator either. Every time I add one to the carton I am afraid I will break the others. Two more days! There should be at least one more by then.

Thanks,

there is a barn on site, for sure the ark goes, and will be taking half of the goats. So got to go through the Canadian Customs procedures, health papers etc, the Ark should do just fine, I built it solid.

I enjoy cold weather as long as my feet and hands stay warm, low blood pressure lets them cool off quicker so lots of wicking under layers and wool outers, I have parkas, mukluks etc from when I was mushing, including a reindeer one.

If I can figure out how to post pics off another email I can show them here, rather nice. Its owned by a Yukon Quest winner but he is going to be training out of his home in Yukon Territory now. Has the large cabin, a smaller one, a large shop and a barn and pretty big outside dog lot and a LOTX of forest stretching out and around. Its in the forested Mtns area quite a ways south of the tundra, it really is about 200 miles + or - east of Michelle, village named Paxson, on Richardson Hwy.

So, its New Years Day ! How are the hatches coming?? Fascinated minds want to know !

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

I guess I'm in the tundra then

Jake, Sounds like a great place you have lined up!

I'm intrigued by the possibility of preserving some of the Scandanavian breeds, and am in the process of learning more about them. Is there any evidence to suggest that Icelandics might be somehow related to Swedish Flower Hens?

Here are the winners of the most colorful rooster contest from the New Year's Eve Hatch!! Icelandic roosters in first and second place !!
