Icelandic Chickens

Kathy, take the eggs to work with you

I am only 3 miles from work. Really, only about 5 minutes to get there.
I am considering it.

Funny, I was waiting up to see the northern lights and I saw someone was still up and posting on BYC. I thought to myself "who on earth is up later than me"? (because all the other timezones come first)

And look who I found :)

Did you google videos of emus hatching so you'd know what to expect?

NYD Icelandics - They need to move out to Coop, but still need to build another one. Tail feather pecking is starting to get bad in this growout pen.

NYD Icelandic Roo... He is starting to look good! Almost Boi like, which is one of NotAFarms Roo's.

Another NYD Icelandic Roo... He reminds me so much of Mahonri's "Fred" his Splash Amer. that died.

NYD Ice Pullet....

4 week old Ice's

NYD EE - Love her all white Muffs/beard

5-6 days ago I had another Ice go broody... So i took some of her Ice eggs, and gave her 6 pure Ameraucana eggs, so total shes on 11-12 eggs. I should have pulled 2 more eggs out, She can barely cover them right now. Oh well. GOOO Momma!

My 3 Coops, which are a bit over crowded... Want to expanded the runs(when it thaws out), and build more coops. But have to wait for yard to be leveled with a tractor, then I can start on fences, then finally more coops.
left one is mostly EE, with 4 Ameraucana hens, and Junior the Roo. + a Buff brahama, Middle one is the Icelandics, far right is FBCM with 3 extras right now which
will be re-homed soon.

Since this is enough pics, I wont post the pics of the Turkeys that I picked up from Laree, or my goats.

Kathy! That is so awesome that they both are wiggling! Today is Day 49, right? Should be really soon. I am so excited that you might get two emu babies! Why have just one six foot bird pecking your eyes out? Right?
