Icelandic Chickens

My six week old cream legbar broody is still on the job. She is the best little Mama since Lukka. One is hiding under her wing. It is stupid but this brings tears o my eyes every night. Even in the small brooder they are in still still rides herd on them all day long. When I fill the feeder she clucks for them to eat. How do they know to do that when they are only three weeks older than the babies?

Hi
I was wondering if anyone here was selling Icelandic eggs or chicks? I looked for a list of people selling maybe and didn't see any, did I miss it maybe? Also I'm hoping this is ok to ask in this thread?

Thanks for any tips

That just amazes me!

Such a sweet thing, for sure. You have to give her a special name...... like "Mary!"
I just call her Little Mama. Seems appropriate. The funny thing is I have the large eco-glow in that brooder and they prefer their Mama. Little Mama jumps up on top of the Ecoglow to nap during the day. She calls her babies up and sometimes they don't go. She goes back down and gets them and before long the three of them are roosting on the edge of the Eco-glow napping.
