Has anyone raised these? My daughter is very interrested in them. Cold-hardy, very cool-looking, plus they're from the Vikings- what more can you say?
I emailed a farm in Connecticut to see if they had any chicks. If anyone has any other leads please let us know. If not this year, maybe next year.....
My only concern is that they might not like to be confined, since they haven't been crossed with more production-type breeds. We have a small suburban yard so free-ranging is out, although they'll have a decent run and a portable pen to move around the yard under our supervision on nice days. But I would not want her to be unhappy if she needs to range free...
