ID on mum and Sex of Chicks

Could be any sort of a mix but might be a gold top hen...gold silkie roo over a light sussex hen...they are great clockers.

My guess is maybe a silkie crossed with a leghorn because of how large her comb is. I want to say crossed with an isa brown because of her coloring. But if she was, her comb wouldn't be that . I actually have a isa brown silkie cross hen myself, but her comb is much smaller than yours but her body looks exactly like yours. So I have to say definitely a silkie crossed with some large combed breed

Nine days old . Wings and tail are developing well . That usually indicates a girl doesnt it ?

This little one is now 8 days old . Frizzle feathers are so interesting. It's got a little tail coming through but not as much as the other , they possibly have different fathers

I really hope so . Someone told me the red looked like a boy at hatch , thick legs and developing comb so might be a wait and see

That they are , I cannot take any credit for that . They are a little pair of farm yard mutts . I'm Excited to see how they turn out
