Idaho anyone?

I have also learned some chicken lessons with disastrous results, felt like such a bad chicken mom....
There is lots of great information here to help you out.

I'm from Boise! Anyone in the area want Fawn Society finches? I got some! How about some Pigeons ( not for hunting practice ) I've got some of them too! Diamond Doves anyone? Or maybe in the future Seramas!

hey I have a friend looking for Seramas do ya have some for sale or ???? and how would I contact ya cause I am in Nampa and so is she..

Nampa Idaho here!!!! There seems to be 2 or 3 Idaho threads going so I posted in 2, (the other was N. Idaho). I have raise RIR for eggs in the past, I purchased 9 barred rock bantams at auction that were supposed to be mostly hens that ended up being all Roos, (freezer camp candidates) and now I have 12 Black Copper Marans that I hatched out 5 weeks ago. Decided that the Marans are all I will have now and dedicate my efforts to that line exclusively.
hiya Duckett I am also from Nampa and I have a sorta mish mash of birds 3 black sexlink 2 RIR and a white that we can't figure out what she is <still hoping it is a she> right now I am thinking of giving up one of my black sexlink I so very much want a light Brahama hen I think they are just so beautiful and that would also give me 2 black 2 white and 2 reds so much fun I don't breed them just raise them for eggs and as pets but Nampa ordinance says 6 only dang it.

Hello! I am in Kuna/Nampa area and have a lot of different breeds of poultry...columbian Wyandottes, RC Rhode Island Reds and Whites, Barred Rocks, Welsummers, and Cream Legbars. I have raise poultry for well over 35 years. There will be a class offered by Boise Community Ed in January that will deal with back yard poultry and how to use them in your garden. PVT to me if you need or want more info.

ALSO

I know this thread is about "IDAHO" but some of you may be working with breeds that deal with Columbian Pattern. There are a lot of things that you can share, or have questions that deal strictly with the Columbian Pattern. I am opening a new thread and hope that those who raise Columbian patterned birds will join in and help everyone learn from their experiences.

The thread will be called "
“Building and Working With the Columbian Patterned Birds".

Hope to see some of you there.

Rob

The closest shows for you would be in Boise (IBBA show in Caldwell first weekend in Nov and the Western Idaho Fair in Aug.) or Salt Lake (have two shows spring and fall)...other than fairs. I have been at the Blackfoot Fair several years now showing cows and always go look at the chickens but you can tell they do not know how to set up a show and they have not used an APA judge or someone with good APA knowledge.

I have some pullets for sale if anyone is looking for some. Mainly have Heritage breeds in RC Rhode Island Reds, Cream Legbars and a few Plymouth Barred Rocks. I have some Columbian Wyandottes too. If they are not laying now they should be real soon. Prices range from $10 to $50.

Let me know
Rob

I have been asked by Hubby to post something on here. On his way back from Cour de Alene to Lewiston, he almost took out a flock of 20+ on the highway. If you know who owns them, or they are yours, please put up a fence of some sort to keep them off the highway. They almost got wiped out by to trucks heading in both directions. I know they are chickens and like to wander and can fly but you almost lost the whole flock in 10 seconds.
