Idaho?

Boise here. I have a mixed flock of 3 Amber Stars, 2 laced Wyandottes,1 RIR and a rather small Araucana rooster. My problem is that my poor rooster is constantly getting "hen pecked" by my 2 Wyandottes. Is this because of his size or is it just them establishing the pecking order? My other hens don't bother him just the Wyandottes.

Those are from Marans, and Michelle breeds them! Really lovely birds, I have seen several people have gotten from her, and I hope to get one or two this coming spring. She has already started taking early hatch orders for some of her lines.

Michelle I will be interested in some marans and midgits and possibly americaunas if we can do some more horsetrading. eggs or chicks.

I'll have to think about that Michelle.

Also I am planning on building some Salatin inspired pasture pens and raising Freedom Rangers on pasture for sale and/or trade if anyone is interested. If anyone has ???'s let me know. I already have some interest.

So I've been wanting to get a couple of barn cats to help control the mice that have moved in... Finally found a couple that were raised on a little farm around chickens etc and whose mother was supposedly a good mouser... We got them on Saturday and they are already catching mice!! I witnessed a successful hunt tonight while I was feeding the birds..

As I was leaving, I couldn't find the littlest one until....

Not the best picture cause I had to use my cell phone and a flashlight.. But he is snuggled up with the silkies in the corner of the pen..
