Idaho?

Spoke with the Idaho Bird Breeders Assoc show secretary last night. There will be around 500 show birds at the show plus a bunch of the sales cages have been reserved. Times etc can be found on the website. http://www.idahobirdbreeders.com/shows

Thanks for posting this! I needed the reminder, I hadn't realized it was this weekend and hubby said he would go with me! I guess I should have put it on my calendar, but I thought it was in another weekend! I'm looking forward to going and just seeing all the birds!

Agreed. I wish I could go to something like this. I always get disappointed when I go to the fair. I'm hoping to see some cool birds like the rare heritage breeds. All people bring are the boring birds that I can see at Cal-Ranch.

I'm trying to get some info on some local show quality silkie or cochin breeders... Local within 2 hrs of Boise. If anyone knows of someone who puts out some good quality birds, please let me know. We are trying to replace a couple of birds for my daughter who is in 4-H and needs them for fair next year...Thanks in advance!

I have a blue from paint breeding and a porelain that are boys (dna sexed them). They're from Catdance lines that I hatched out. She has beautiful lines so they should be at least good breeding quality I imagine. Can't really tell with silkies until they get bigger. For nuggets they are looking pretty good, great foot feathering so far!

I'm located in Meridian as well. If you're interested in boys shoot me a PM and we can work out a price.

Sooo, last night I had to remove two hens from the coop where my bantam mystery hen Bella lives because for the 4th time I have caught them being mean and nasty to her and my other hens. When I went out last night to put them to bed I witnessed them literally push her off of the roosting stick twice and then pull some of her feathers out, grab her by the neck feathers and start to shake her (until I stopped them). I have witnessed them being aggressive towards the other hens as well, but with Bella they can be all the way across the enclosure and will hunt her down and attack her and even take on my Orpington Jane who is bigger than them.....what do I do about Abnorma and Wichi ( I named them after a couple of characters on a movie called Witches in Stitches)? I want to just "end" them but they were a gift from one of my uncles that rescued them from one of his friends. My freezer camp only has 1 resident (of course not living) and could always use a couple more......muahahahaha ;)
