Idaho?

Boise Idaho.
I have a mixed mutt flock but I have some really reliable layers and I'd be willing to sell some started pellets off of my best layers throughout the year. ( I have two girls that lay nearly every day, every other day in the winter. One is four years old and hasn't slowed down one bit )

I have a hatch in a couple of days but they are mostly meat birds with the possibility of a dozen or so layers, tinted and olive/green egg layers. I'd be willing to sell most of the layer based pullets at six to eight week as I only need two or three.

The next 3 batches will be mostly egg layers and hatchery quality silkies.

Next year I may be willing to sell meat birds or heavy layers as well but this year I only have enough hatching capacity to fill my own families freezers. :)

If I sell enough started pullets and pet silkies this year I will buy a second incubator and have more birds available. I hope to add a couple of pure breeds next year too.

Dang chicken math, I went in to Cal Ranch to get a bag of feed for my 5 three month old existing chickens and I came out with 3 chicks, and my brother got 2. I better go set up the mini brooder... I'll need to keep most of my money off of me when I go there for the next few months.

Anyone know if anyone in Idaho or eastern Oregon caponizes? I'm thinking about learning this year and would love to see it done in person. Thanks....

Hi all!

I am in the Spirit Lake area and am looking for other members near me. I am new and could use some advice while building my coop. Northern Panhandle or North Eastern Washington members???

Hello! You are close to me. I am in the Athol/Spirit Lake area.. I am a newbie, but totally obsessed now...

I'm new, too. I have 7 hens that are ready laying. I have a Buff Orpington and six Cinnamon Queens. This is just the start until I build my dream flock. Maybe we can help each other out.

My neighbors made a sickening comment.

We live in a neighborhood with a ton of chickens and roosters. They've never complained. My rooster crows in the morning like usual and then maybe a handful of times during the day.

Well I guess they saw my dad at the store and told them "We're going to come on over and take care of your daughters rooster for". My dad said oh really, you'll do it huh? and she replied, "no, we are borrowing my sons hunting dog and letting it go in your back yard. He'll finish him off. To as my dad let them know he has talked to the sherifs department and got the okay to shoot any dog on our property killing our birds. He told them go ahead and try.

Our neighbors are awesome, but these ones. They are always complaining about everything. Not just us, all their other neighbors too. They aren't quiet about it either. They are confrontational. They also are heavy drug users. Everyone knows this and they know we all know but keep quiet about it because if they aren't harming us or others why bother type of attitude.

I just hate when people think those kind of threats are okay to make. No, they aren't, they are messed up!

I'm in TX but I'm curious about Idaho. I've thought for a while that it might be a nice place to live. How are things there? Do you all enjoy living there?

I am from Idaho currently residing in Texas! I love Idaho, it's in my blood, but there are good things about Texas as well. The weathers prefer here.

. However I miss mountains and pine trees so badly! Also, I felt things were more friendly and felt more a part of our neighborhood in Idaho.
