IDEA! BABY CHICK CLEAN WATER AN FEED

Just wanted to share this with everyone when i raise my chicks whatever you raise them in i use a plastice bin with wood shavings and when i put the water an feeder in there they get filled with woodshavings an dirty quick so what ive done to help this is raise my feeder an water up by putting a Maxwell coffe can lid under them its not to high for the chicks an it helps keep stuff out of them as if there where to be sitting directly on the bottom it also helps stabilize them too.

You're on the right track.
I use 8 and 16oz(depending on height needed) sour cream containers filled with sand(for stability). Fits the chick feeders and waterers pretty perfectly. Don't have pics of that.

I also use a tote lid to put feed and water on, to keep bedding out of stuff and for chicks to feed off surface the first few days.
