If it was my order I would use the leghorns for food since giving them away seems like a waste of food IMO.

Not so much a waste, really. The other folks will feed them, care for them, and eat them. They aren't "food" yet. That's gonna take a whole lot of feed. The OP didn't pay for them, so he/she just did a good deed and giving them away.

I, too, got my Ideal chicks today. Here's my order:

I ordered cochins and an Indian red Jungle Fowl and got a bunch of Silver Laced Wyandottes? as filler.

Those look like Silver Laced Wyandottes to me. I ordered one, and it looks like that.

I agree with both food comments. I would have liked to keep them for food, but 25 chickens is too many for my space and my kids appear to be against eating them (we'll see if I can work on them). Like Fred's Hens says, I got them for free, so I am happy to give them away. Plus, this is Reno: it isn't the center of the economic recovery. I am more than happy to help someone else out.
