Ideal number of ducks?

I wanted to ask what you think is the ideal number of ducks (in a rural backyard)?

And also what do you think is the max number that someone can get away with (in a rural backyard)?

Depends on the backyard. I would not get less than 3. 4 would probably be better. I know someone who had two ducks and one was taken by a hawk. The remaining duck has been very sad and lonely as her owner searches for a new friend for her.

i am now moving, but i started with ducks when i lived in a subdivision. i had 4 to begin with, then added 2 more.

If you have a good sized yard it just depends on how many you want to take care of. if i were you I would probably get 5 or 6 to start and if you want to add more. if they are ducklings you will also have to sell some males if there are to many, one male should have 3 to 5 females.

Property is like 9000 square feet, but less than half of that (possibly a third is the house). The front yard is small. The back is good sized.

depends on your yard i will have 8 of them i a week but that maybe too loud for a rural area i would say probably 3or4
