So we ordered 50 chicks, they came 10/30, we have lost one and 7 more have really screwed up toes. The one that died could barley walk when we got it. So we called, we get a message service, I e-mailed haven't heard anything...we were going to order more from there next year, but I dont think so!!! I heard nothing but good about their chicks, I am not impressed, upset actually.

What kind of leg issues do your chicks have?

I didn't really have this issue, they were just careless and did not give me what I ordered and I lost one chick on the way...The one that died was the ONE I made the order for. It was the ONLY ONE I wanted, the rest were just to make the minimum.

I always buy mine from the feed store, they are usually 1 week old, and you can look at them and check them out before you buy them.

That is what I have been hearing. That ideal has been shipping out chicks that are deformed. One eye, twisted toes, twisted beaks, messed up necks. Obviously that hatchery has some very bad genetics in their birds.


It shows that they dont really care about the quality of their chicks. It also disgusts me. I hope you get a full refund from them.

Could be a bad batch, added with the long cold trip they need to take this time of year. Let's hope they contact you back. Else try calling again.

This was 2 years ago on mine.

I didn't have any genetic defects in my birds tho...TG

They must have really gone down hill in the last 2 years.....

We've ordered MANY chicks and never lost one....toes are bent like WAY back....its bad, we've never gotten chicks like this.Not worth $160
