Got 12 slikies 2 years ago from Ideal. They ended up being a mix of white, grey, buff and blue. They were definitely healthy and all survived. As for quality, don't expect exhibition type birds. We got no packing peanuts since our order included other breeds. Of the 12, 7 were cockerels and 5 pullets.

Hi! I just ordered 8 assorted silkies from Ideal yesterday. I was curious if yours have gone broody? My goal in buying silkies is to have some live incubators.

Yes, they have been broody from time to time. However they are small and can only cover 2-4 eggs at a time. If you want larger broodies look into LF Cochins. My daughter wanted some last year so we got 6. All 6 have been broody this summer. Half have been repeat offenders too.
