I received a rare breed assortment of 25 pullets on June 10th. I also ordered 4 Brabanter roos with them. I lost three chicks the first week- 1 gold brabanter and two pullets. The rest are doing great! I really like this assortment. I'm not sure of all of them, but besides the Brabanters, I do recognize...
2 Golden Lakenvelders
3 Black La Fleche
2 Norwegian Jaerons
3 Golden Campines
2 Mottled Javas

I can't wait to figure out the rest of them. Amy

If you can post some pictures that would be greatly appreciated. Its so hard to find chick pictures of some of the rarer breeds.
I would especially like to see your campine pics. I recently got the pullet surprise special from ideal and I think two of them are gold campines, but I'm having trouble finding chick pictures to compare to.

I'm looking at ordering some Brabanters this winter. I think they are very cool looking birds.

Here's some pics taken this afternoon. See how many breeds you can pick out. Amy

Thanks!!

the little girl in pictures 4 and 7 with the red head and gray chest. I was thinking golden campine though.

What is it?? I got two of those in my assortment and haven't been able to confirm what they are.

Its pretty easy to pick out those brabanters though!!

You will love the gold Lackenvelders. Our girl Angela is one of our best layers- still laying an egg nearly every day at three years old.

No, she's not a golden campine. There are 3 golden campines in this assortment. You can see one in the 4th pic. She's in the bottom left corner. I'm thinking she may be a silver campine? She is the only one I have like that. What about the gold colored chicks, does anyone have any idea? Golden Phoenix? Yohohama? I also don't have any idea about the brown chicks? I think maybe Welsummers or Barnvelders? Any ideas would be appreciated. Amy

surely somebody can "name that chick"

I think its tough when they are little because there are so many overlapping traits. I got three little yellow chicks in my assortment. I'm assuming BO, but really, they could be something different. Its so hard to tell the different breeds apart

Still dying to know about the red head gray chest. looks like its 'speckled"
