I have wyndottes there friendly/scared of me lol but beautiful hardy birds but mange well in the summer temps here in maine. But they are very large so large hens would be best for them to be with. But suggests above are great an also as stated all roosters are different behavior wise. An i made a homemade crow collar for a roo i have inside works well but you need to make sure its not to tight an not to loose or it wont work.

I have a 8 lbs. Buff Orpington rooster big love bug. Love’s everything except anything that threatens his girls.

Yeah, I have to say my Barney was the best Rooster ever ans he could even pull off the lavender look too!
It was heart breaking not to see my big guy today! I was the big cry baby today and every time my husband seen me in the coops crying he thought that darn eagle had come back!
We spent most of the day redoing the top of our runs to keep the eagle out!

If I was planning on a one rooster flock, I would get a gamecock. The least human aggressive of all breeds, fiercely protective of their hens, and generally gentlemanly breeders causing no damage to their hens.

They are good birds cull the fowl that are man fighters which you've tried to work with that theirs no hope for em if they continue. All my gamefowl cocks are gentle to their hens and easy to handle.
