Ideal's predator light? Anyone use??

I looked at the link the good people from Ideal gave me when I asked for more info. on the light. Sounds great, if it indeed works. Problem is, buying more than one would be an extravagence for me and from what I read, you would need more than 1 for good protection.

I bumped Ideal's post about ordering your spring poultry up to page 1 of the buy-sell-trade-giveaway category so you could read about the predator light (on page 9 of that thread). Trying to bring the link over here didn't work.

It's basically a solar powered light that has a red 'eye' that flashes. Supposedly predators will see that eye as another predator and will stay away.

So maybe we could mount two smoke detectors and the flashing lights on them would make predators think that another predator was already in residence? (I've been lying in bed staring at the one red flashing light on my smoke detector many times when I was unable to sleep!)

Or maybe string up some holiday lights with a flasher...Change all of the bulbs to red and it will appear that there are multiple predators already in residence?

I don't "know" that it does any good, but I keep a clock radio on in the barn all the time (country music

). I don't set the time, so it flashed 12:00 in red all the time.
It sets rather high on a rafter.

The clock cost me $2 at a yard sale.
