Ideas for Converting Playhouse to Duck House (photo)

This little house needs to be renovated for our 7 ducks. I’m looking for suggestions on how to make them a great space. It is 8x5x5.5. The floor is plywood raised off the ground. The house will be moved and a run will be added. Any suggestions will be helpful since we are newbies!
Also, would you house ducks near your popular side of the yard or farther away? I guess I’m mostly worried about the area having an odor when we picnic or have guests. But we love the ducks and would rather keep them closer if that’s not an issue.

Wow that is adorable i would put hardware cloth over the windows and just make sure everything is secure

aside from the one little hole in the middle at the bottom everything really looks awesome just be sure to have something more secure than the mesh over the windows ducks are also quite messy so use that info to your preferations

Should be pretty easy to put some ventilation in the gable ends and windows.

If you're planning to leave it where it is, I'd be tempted to put the pop door in the man door or in one of the double doors. That would make it easier since you can take it off and work on it wherever it suits.

If you're planning a predator proof run, you could take the double doors right off.

Looks like it's got a lot of potential.

You noticed the hole! It was made for the chipmunks who live underneath. It’s super cute to watch them go in and out.

Awww well then I suppose its fine then just make sure no weasels or anything that can kill ducks can get in
