ideas for keeping peeps warm if power goes out?

Im worried about tomorrow too. I have 20 eggs due friday. I told DH we need a generator lol. Last year thankfully our power was only out for a day. I know other people on the coast had their power out for weeks. *sigh* hope that doesnt happen again. We do have a wood stove so we can keep the just hatched chicks warm.

Maybe the storm will not be so bad.

You could always put them in your hood in your hoodie and carry them around all day! J/k

Hot water and thoes heat pads would work. I'm worried about my tractors blowing away again, and the other half of the damaged tree falling on the house.... the first half fell on the garage.

hee hee! i can just see myself: "okay, kids, put on 6 layers and be sure that the last layer has a hood!" can you imagine the poop??? and with our chicks, at least, they'd end up perched on our heads... silly lil chicks!

thanks, all, for the great ideas!!! hubby thinks that hot water heater won't work once the water that's in it runs out - something about electricity for the thermometer that tells it to make more hot... but! i did drag in some fire wood, got out some empty juice and milk jugs, got the propane burner out of the camp stuff in case i need to boil water (on the front porch in the wind - fun!), and i'm going to the drug store to look for a couple of those warmer packs for at night...

now i'll just hope that the power doesn't go out at all!!!

to all of you who are fellow western-washingtonians, i hope you all weather (hah! punny!) the storm well too!!!! no trees on/in houses, no missing roof pieces, no power outages!!!!! hunker down! we don't need no stinking umbrellas!
