Hello, I have six 9 week old standard breeds of chickens and have recently got 3 smaller 3-4 week old silkies, I’m not sure they will integrate with the others. I have a really nice coop and run with plenty of space. However, I’m considering putting a smaller coop and run within my existing chicken run for the silkies to be safe. Any thoughts? My existing coop is 6x8 and run is 10x20. I’m looking into either the omlet coop or https://www.chickencoopcompany.com/products/orpington-lodge-chicken-coop-6-12-chickens this one. Here is a pic of my current setup. Or would you think I could integrate my silkies with the standards later on when they are bigger ? Thanks

Instead of building or buying a new coop, could you divide your current coop/run?
I do this when I am doing the see but no touch integration. I built a removable wall within my coop and run for the new members. I used 1”x1” boards to make a frame and then installed chicken wire over the frame, I leave about a 2” gap in the frame at the corners so when I remove the wall, it just rolls up for storage.
