I'm looking to create a list of ideas for what to do with extra/unwanted roosters. Anyone can contribute to this list! If you believe you have a good idea, don't hesitate to post it! Something I found roosters useful for:

    Keeping horses company.

Both nearby ranches put a rooster in with each horse in a stall. They explained to me that some horses get lonely, especially when they are in a stall, so having a rooster helps lessen the loneliness, apparently. I understand that only certain roosters and certain horses may get along, but it is still worth a try in my opinion [IMG]

    Anyone else have ideas?

I either sell them off for cheap or give them away. This spring I had 11 roos to get rid of, somebody came and took them all. They were silkies, but I'm positive they were going to eat them.

Right now I have 2 boys, a brahma and faverolle outside 24/7. Just roaming around the yard.
