The previous owner told us she was a jeweled orpington, but tbh she really didn’t have any clue about chickens. She was more of a collector of pretty breeds and didn’t take great care of them. We initially got 2 from her, and then a year later we took the other 5 of them off her hands and (now) 2 of them were different breeds than she told us, one was missing a toe and had a tumor? I think., and one died of a severe respiratory infection shortly after we got her. So tbh I’m not all that surprised she had the wrong breed names lol.Speckled sussex
And im not sure if it was a mistake, but theres no such thing as a jeweled orpington, i think you might mean jubilee orpington? It’s nothing wrong, just wanted to make sure you knew!
Very pretty chicken, by the way!
I'm glad you have them now. If this one is any indication they have a much better home. She looks very healthy and is quite beautiful. The previous owner told us she was a jeweled orpington, but tbh she really didn’t have any clue about chickens. Oh yes I’m glad we were able to take them all in. We’ve only had the 4 new girls for a few months and they’re already looking so much healthier and happier, and much less skittish. And I agree she’s absolutely gorgeous!I'm glad you have them now. If this one is any indication they have a much better home. She looks very healthy and is quite beautiful.

Thank you. I only had her for a few weeks but pretty much the whole time I had her in a dog crate in my bedroom because she was so sick and couldn’t be out with the flock. I also thought she was getting better until I woke up and found her gone one day.Oh i see! Sorry for your loss![]()
