The two are definitely Pekins. Can't see toes to discern skin color. Which is not a complaint. It's refreshing. You're located outside the US right? Your birds seem to be bred to a slightly different standard which is why I'm assuming that. From what I can see is the ones with heavily feathered legs are Pekins. The rooster columbian and the hen wheaten. For the Old English Game Bantams I see a spangled hen, a silver duckwing hen and a variety I'm debating one (most likely blue tailed buff.) Your ones with lightly feathered legs look to be crosses between your Pekins and OEGB parents or that's at least what it looks like to me.
I was more impressed with the OEGBs! They're chunky! The two are definitely Pekins. Can't see toes to discern skin color. Which is not a complaint. It's refreshing.
Overall they are bred much better across the pond.
I just thought they were well fed.I was more impressed with the OEGBs! They're chunky! After researching it some, looks like they're meant to look like that overseas! Just weird to see the differences in both breeds
Thank you yes I think we call them Pekins here, very cute and I like the little OEGBs. Yes,they are being treated with ivomec and baths and manuka honey and neem oil. Need a net to catch them cause they are fast!Looks like the clean legged birds are OEGB, the others appear to be Cochin mixes.
A few have SLM. I'd look into treating that now if you're not already.
Thanks! I really like the little smooth onesThe ones with the heavy feathard feet are Cochins, the one with golden on her chest is a golden duckwing OEGB, the specked one is a speckled OEGB, the buff(orange) one I'm thinking is an OEGB, the gray one I think is a mix.
Yes I’m in New Zealand. Thank you that’s really helpful. I don’t know much about bantams and took them as a favour as the previous owner had a house fire and couldn’t have them anymore. I was going to move them on but I like them to much now lol. They are good looking wee things with a lot of character. Built them a new coop and run and now there’s a broody one on eggs. I was so excited to see the first little egg haha having only been used to my big chickens eggs. You're located outside the US right?
