Found it outisde yesterday, not aggressive and is letting me handle him, I was thinking ratsnake?
I'm not sure off hand what kind it is, but it is a cutie! I'm sure in Florida you probably have a wide variety of snakes. We've been seeing a ton of snakes this year around our property and I even saw a HUGE black rat snake while riding my horse the other day. Some years we hardly see any!
I think it's a dekay's snake. Edit... didn't see the penny in the one photo.
Dekay's are dinky little snakes.
It looks like a Florida Brown Snake to me....
Check it's color underneath, it could be a red bellied snake. They come in different shades of gray or brown and the bellied can be pinkish to dark red.... http://www.angelfire.com/ab6/jnjkapfer/redbellied_snake.htm
TriciaHowe got it right:
Florida Brown Snake
Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?
It's a SNAKE and someone called it cute??? Are you mentally disabled?? Holy cow. *shudder*
Quote:What?? it is cute!
I must be mentally disabled, go check out my other thread I just hatched out 6 ringneck snakes that I thought they were "skink" eggs
It's a yellow rat snake !
You should let it go. Don't keep it... wild snakes are meant for the wild. Help keeps the rodent population down. PM me if you have any questions!
