The person I got it from his cousin gave it to him. The beans were growing up an old historic house at some civil war reenactment they went to. I guess the blooms smelt really good and they took a few dried pods to have their own. That's all I know of them. I planted a few in a deep pot to see what they will do for fun. I know some beans are edible and some are not. I'm crossing my fingers hoping someone knows what they are.Itâs not one of the more common ones for dried beans. For years Iâve grown dried beans, mostly pole beans. My bean towers are 10 ft tall, and generally, all the dried beans I grow reach that tall.
At first I thought the ones in pic might be âpainted ponyâ, but that is not it. I grew some ânightfallâ beans, which look similar too- they come in a couple colors.
I have had bush beans that grow a top similar to what a pole bean grows - it looks like it will climb, but it doesnât get much taller. So, it might be that your pole bean that âdoesnât pole too muchâ is classed as a bush bean.
do you know any history of these beans? A family heirloom kind of bean?
