identifying gender in chicks not true to breed

Speaking of personalities…SFs are notoriously docile. I had a hard time keeping them with more dominant breeds and they always did better in pairs. So it’s good you have lots of them!

This is a picture from Cackle's salmon faverolle page. You can see that the breast, belly, legs and tail are black. Your chicks don't have a significant amount of dark feathers in any of those areas. So even if their coloring does poorly against the written standard, they still have typical female coloration.
Thank you. All these replies are helping me feel relieved that I have all females--wasn't prepared to manage a male.

They are all pullets 😊 I love Salmon Faverolles.

Thank you for your response. I've been surprised that three of the four SFs are quite flighty, only one being very friendly. I got four German Bielefelder chicks at the same time. They are very friendly and engaging, I'd say assertive, but not at all domineering. So they're all getting along well. Thanks again for your response.

Wow, these are beautiful. I think mine are pretty much going to be scruffy with their black beards.
Given the age I agree that these are females, just hatchery quality. If they were younger I'd be questioning it but they're well old enough now that the feather color alone is enough to determine gender.
Great, thank you for that feedback. I had been agonizing over thinking that I'd have to surrender a male for food at our local shop. Lots of folks where I live are having to cull their cockles regularly, so no one is ever looking for a rooster. For me these babies are pets as well as an egg source.
