spurs does not always mean rooster - we have hens with spurs.

I don't know - even with the uglies - that face says girl to me. maybe it is both?!

I say rooster. The tail feathers are long and have that sickle shape. Maybe after it molts and regrows its feathers then it will be clearer to tell.
