idk if this is the right place but here it is how do you know if your serama is fertile or not

Yes, she won't be bred by a polite rooster until she is about two weeks from lay (she is a child till egg laying), the hens can -hold- sperm for about two weeks then they need to be bred again by the rooster, but leaving them together is usually ok.

The yolk will be visible but slightly smaller then a standard egg, the germinal disk will be visible and the same size as a standard egg.

Most people will not hatch pullet eggs the very tiny first eggs laid while the chicken is working on her egg laying.

well i have a hen that the guy was saying she was laying and i have another that is the same age as the roo that ant laying yet

Also if the cockerel has 1/2 red lines running down his legs on the back or side of his legs that is the sign of fertility and hens well, they lay eggs but you can also crack open an egg she lays and look for the blastostodisc (when fertilized called the Blastoderm) can be visibly seen on the egg and is a little tiny cloud white colour disc on the yolk approximately 2-3mm in diameter (see picture below). Hatching from pullet birds will give you smaller chick and in return smaller birds but also pullet breeding you also run the risk of allot more deformities and death rates in chicks. Same with cockerel breeding, breeding from a cockerel under 1 runs the risk of high mortality rates in chicks in development and also your fertility rates as he is still learning but apparently more hens will be produced from cockerel breeding. Where as cock breeding (a male bird over a year old) you normally achieve better hatch rates and fertility but you will get more cockerels than hens, i personally think that the sex of the chick will be luck of the draw but after my ramble on hopefully i have helped you :)

well as of right now she ant layed anything yet but only had them for three days now hope to get some more breeding stock to mix the blood lines and hope to get a better bird.so what if he ant got the 1/2 red lines on the legs jw
