opt to not sleep under the brooder light can I turn it off then? They are snuggled up on the other side of the coop far away from the brooder lamp.
 
What's the room temperature? They may be just fine.

Actually, do you have a thermometer you can use to verify the actual brooder temperature both under the light and in the far corner? Just curious.

I don't have one hooked up, the temp in the coop is whatever the temp is outside. 45 currently. I'd say under the light it's about 60-65.
 
Mine are 4.5 weeks old and I took out the heat lamp about a week ago. It's 70 degrees upstairs and I think about 68 where they are. They're completely fine without it.
 
Mine are two weeks and will be removing light next week..temp is 80 and they don't even go under light so next week ill lower temp to75 which will be about room temp. Might have to give light during the nights though.
