If a flock had no roosters, would a hen still try and brood the eggs?

hens go broody regardless

most breeds have had broodiness bred out of them

but they still can go broody

its very random

that's why people without roosters buy eggs from eBay or try obtain some from friends

or then try to break them so they can carry on getting eggs

A common Advize, is to allow fraudulent Eggs to accumulate in a desir'd Nest, and once successfully Broody, speedily replace the incorrect Eggs with live Ones.

You can try putting an add out in the local area that you're looking for someone with broodies.

Alternatively.. if you really want your hen to go broody.. stop collecting eggs for a few days.. let a nest build up a clutch.. someone should get interested in it pretty soon.
