If Chickens Could Talk w/pics

Very cute but I must say this...quarantine quarantine quarantine! New additions should be quarantined for 1 month to check for illness, symptoms etc etc. Adding them without quarantine is playing Russian roulette with the lives of your existing flock.

Please practice it in the future...separate in another location, preferably to avoid airborne interaction and physical interaction...a carrier can look healthy. There are tons of horror stories here about flocks lost because a sick bird was integrated. It is also not wise to toss a strange roo in the mix with others. The new roo could be seriously hurt or killed so keep a close eye on them.

Exccccuse us! What are you doooooing in our coop?!?!?!?

I want to thank everyone for their pics and comments...this is turning into a real cute thread.

To those who wanted me to keep the chickens seperate...I do, or rather have, but the ones I have now, are all from the same place. Like I said, it's a reunion of "coop mates" just a different coop...I'll be adding more in the week to come...

And........the little roo is doing just fine...he was the "ball" in the chicken run "pin ball" game for about an hour or so...but life settled down for him quickly. A big ol fluffy Buff became his buddy....she would stand around him and peck at anyone who got too close....later last night when I shut them up for the night, there he was, as close to almost under her on the perch as he could get.....

This am at 5:30 when I went out to turn them loose in the run, they were both in a nesting box all ready...LOL...guess he followed her
to the nest and was snuggled up beside her.

I went to work, came home and gave them fresh water and more food. He is just a pecking around and moving in and out of the big feather balls like he's done it all his life...(and he did at his own home). But he was the only banty (frizzel) and the farmer didn't want to mess with bantys.....

So, keep those pics comming...I grew up down the road from my Grandma, she had tons of chickens...I always said, when I grew up, I was gonna have chickens like my grandma.....welp, it took me to age 58 to do it, but by golly "I'M IN THERE NOW".....and no, we don't eat them...they are a source of eggs and intertainment...my city friends think I'm nuts to say I spent the morning in a lawn chair, coffee cup in hand, camara around my neck and watching "the girls" go about their day..............I like to think I'm as content as they are.
