it's easy! JUMP IN WITH BOTH FEET! I'm raising 2 silkies in my spare room (yes, in the house) and they're awesome! I clean the paper towel bedding every day because their poop is sometimes stinky, but that's the only downside. --- wait--- really, the poop smell is not overwhelming, and THERE ISN'T A DOWNSIDE. I got my chicks at a day old, and cannot wait to move out of town so that I can have more.
Keep em warm, keep em clean. Play with them... offer them a nice worm from your garden and enjoy the fun... let them take naps under your shirt while you relax on the couch...
