If I build it, they will come.....

lol you all make me REALLY look like a slacker! I didnt even start mine until my girls were 7 and a half weeks old! And we basically only worked on it on the weekends, (except the week after I broke my finger and was allowed to finally use it again we worked that whole week to make up for the lost time) and basically they were moved in within 3 weeks, but it's not pretty either. however its sufficing. The bats like the top of the run for some reason tho. eww

Well, I feel like it's taking forever to get things done as it is with me......BUT, I don't feel quite so behind the 8 ball now though.....

I'm glad I'm getting things arranged slightly ahead of the game, cause I think I'm gonna have to be able to move birds into the coop as the next step up from the brooder, which won't take long at all to out grow....So I'm glad I'll be able to get them a place set up in there.

The geese are currently living in half the coop now.

The run is framed up, I'm ready to put wire on now, and the door.....

Just thought I'd give an update on my poultry compound since I hadn't for a while.....

Sides and top of run are 2"x4" mesh wire. Then I put 2' chicken wire around the bottom to keep appendages in or out of the pen where they belong.

The house has the roosts up in it, cut and/or split natural wood poles.

Still need to build nest boxes to put in it.

Dark pic.... Half of the inside (8x8 of the 8x16) comprises the roost area.

The lovely outdoor lounge area....lol

Thanks, thanks....

The run is about 16x50.

There's 59 chickies at the moment, still all small right now. 6 buff geese too....as seen in some of the pics.... Will be some turkeys later... It's a big commune. lol

I'm gonna fence of a fairly large pasture area for them to range on, in what I hope to be relative safety (will include electric fence around it) too.
