If I have 20 hens and 1 rooster can I add another rooster and they will sort it out or should I just stay with 1 rooster and not 2?

If they are contained in a run then you are likely to get less trouble if you stick with one rooster.
If you free range and are prepared to have a coop for each rooster and any hens they can persuade to live with them then it can work given enough space but they will probably still fight.

This is a good question. It really depends on how aggressive your rooster is and how old/big the new rooster will be. If it’s full grown then you will more likely have better success. @Shadrach has a good point as well.
Hope this helps

title says all
Have five roosters, four Banty's and one Black Jersey Giant, a newer addition last season. One Banty the daddy of three.. Lived up to his name, but I wanted at least one. By the luck of the draw I got one in six chicks, I think. Might have been dozen. They get along fine. There was an issue with daddy, mostly with me.. Then his sons grew and they tamed him a bit, he'd come after me and they'd go after him. Guess they wanted to eat.. Since the Jersey Giant, who is truly giant. Rules the roost.. The Banty's still do their job, Giant doesn't seem to care. There is no fighting as there are plenty of hens of different flavors.. and daddy don't bother me no more. Amen
