Just a thought, I know we can get flu from birds.
I presume it works the other way as well.

Do you avoid your flock if you're under the weather?

Relax. You will NOT get Avian Influenza from your chickens (I hope)! They will not get sick from you, either.

If you feel poorly, it is being advised that you stay away from hogs/pigs as the swine flu can be transmitted by humans to pigs.

I'm not aware of anything you can be transmitting to chickens. But if you have multiple pens and if you have any chickens in quarantine, there are biosecurity precautions you should take that have been addressed elsewhere on this board.
