You are trying to manipulate natural behavior. Chickens are chickens and will do what comes natural.

I forgot to mention. When I installed the LED light rope I did not use the cheap plastic clips that come with the rope light. I used exterior Large EZ-Cable Clips by Gardner Bender. Got them at Lowes. They are made for installing coax cable. The plastic ones kept breaking

WOOHOO! DH's wakeup call was 90 minutes later than 2 days ago...I am very encouraged by these results. The chicks are getting 14 1/2 hours of light...maybe will get some eggs now? Keeping fingers crossed!

So Moe got up a bit earlier today. Still better than b4. It may take a bit to find the right balance. Increased light time by 30 additional minutes this morning. Will see tomorrow morning how it goes ;o)

I did the same thing as you last year, and YES, it increased egg production. You'll see the results any minute now...

I will be sooo eggcited to get my 1st egg! It seems like forever to wait. I am very happy with the results just getting Moe the Roo to sleep in later...getting eggs too ... priceless!
