She couldn't help letting out a mrrow of laughter and content. She mewed. "We can be mates now without feeling guilty." She paused a moment letting her own words sink in, and hardly believing they could be true. She was so happy, no matter what shadows lay over her future. "I hope Lilacstar will understand. I have to trust this choice."

"I'd love that! But you'll be surprised, I spent as much time attending to my medicine cat duties as an apprentice as I did secretly practicing my own battle techniques." She mewed lovingly, flicking him gently over the ear with the tip of her tail.
