If I paint my chickens nails

My wife wants oooooh sooooo badly to paint our little serama's nails..

I fear that one day I will come home, and find they have all had their nails done (what we call it around here)

... next thing would be eyebrow waxing... but chickens don't have eye brows... Thank goodness.

Oooh, I can't wait to tell my husband about this thread, just to hear him growl "Some people shouldn't HAVE chickens!"

I'll tell him that nobody is painting the roosters' nails, just the hens', which is okay because they're GIRLS. And then he'll growl some more

Oh...my...goodness...gracious!! I just had a mental picture of all the girls having a 'spa day'; first they'd get their nails done, then a little massage maybe, followed by a bikini wax? tee hee...this just made my day start with a lol. DH wants to know why I'm laughing, and I really can't tell him.

I tried this. Marks come off two quick. Seems cucticle has to much wax or protein simply does not take paint well. Had slightly mark retention by painting scutes on legs.

How old are birds to be marked and how long is marke desired to last?

I always wear a light blue metallic toe nail polish and the chickens love to peck at it if I am wearing sandals. I have one wheaten roo who has a shoe fetish. Everytime I wear different shoes he follows me around and stares at my shoes and then proceeds to attack them. After the second day, he is used to them till I wear a different pair then its back to attacking them lol.
