This question reminds me of a quote, "I'd sooner be a small bird in a hawk-filled wood than a caged hen on a factory farm"
So to answer your question, I'd rather be an extremely wary breed than a calm, docile, friendly breed that isn't aware that danger is afoot till I become a hawkbite.
That would be a self sufficient breed allowed to forage forest and field like Hamburgs, Redcaps, Mediterranean breeds like Penedesencas, Minorcas, Catalanas or Fayoumis.

If the former, probably an Easter Egger (YES, I know EE's aren't a breed!) Because they are all individuals, unpredictable and are not held to any standards.


If the latter I would probably end up a Silkie. Meek, friendly and just a little paranoid!
