yes. I have hasps and comonation locks on my doors, windows and egg doors cause racoons are pretty crafty. i'd bet they could dig under and push a paver. ( average 12x12x1 size).

I would think the weight of the coop would hold down the pavers to prevent them from being lifted up or dug out. However, over protection is much easier than dealing with the clean up after a raccoon massacres a flock.

I am actually worried about them digging under and pushing up one of the pavers that the coop is not sitting on...

in that case then yes absolutly dig down a foot or so and bury the hardware cloth.
