If one chickens molts can it spread to others easily?

If one chickens molts can it spread to others easily like a disease? I would really like to know becauase as soon as one of our chickens molts we have another one molting then more! Thanks in advance.

Molting is a seaonal thing. All chickens shed feathers usually in late Summer into late Fall. They are just getting new feather growth for Winter.

Even young birds molt juvenile feathers as they mature.

Molting can't spread, but chickens tend to molt at the same time of the year.

Are you sure it is molting? Have you checked them for lice or mites?

Is there any feather-picking going on, or over active roosters?

I agree. Molting can't spread amoung the birds but there are different degrees of molting, Some molts are heavier than others.

I agree with the above posters, molting is not contagious, it is a natural process the birds go through. Glad you were concerned though.
