If the electricity DOES go out...

I'd just keep the chick in your shirt. Should be nice and warm.
My little serama boy HATES the cold. So if we do get a poweroutage he will probably be sleeping with me... and I am not kidding

I wish I were. It seems that no matter how many eggs I set at the beginning, I can only ever get 3 to hatch. After the first week, I'm down to "my" three that I'm apparently allotted each time I incubate. So if it means keeping the eggs warm by my body heat...by God that's what I'm going to do!

I am right there with ya. I am hatching as I type. Forecast is for 18 - 20 inches of snow. WIND is horrific already. Newscast says power outages are expected for days (not hours). I have brooders full of chicks. I fear I shall suffer the loss of many. I have no generator, and no idea what I can do. I just pray for no power outage.

Wasn't there a thread on here about hatching eggs in a bra ? All I can say is candle, pick you favorites, and load up. Good luck.

Do you have a bbq pit/grill or a pan you could sacrifice and burn something in outside? You could start a fire and (if it's a grill) heat up a pan of water. You could also put some bricks or rocks there to get good and hot and then use tongs to wrap them up in old towels and surround it with those.

Looks like the power is gonna stay on! (WHOOP!)

But...as for the bra method...I think that works best for women that aren't already overly voluptuous in that area. But, seeing as how I only have three eggs left that are good, I will do it if it has to be done! Or I'll duct tape the eggs to the underbelly of the dog. Either way, should be good and hilarious!

Everything in the apartment is electric. Once the electricity goes, we're kind of screwed.
