How can you be sure that they are getting enough water throughout the day? It's been pretty nice here in VA the last couple of weeks and I've been letting my chickens free range more, but they never go back into their run for drinks of water.

I have waterers in the yard for them if they dont make it back to the coop and die from thirst its thier own fault. A bird has got to know its limitations.

i wouldnt worry bout them.free ranging chickens can find water if they get thristy or go back to their pen an get a drink.

Agree with posts above. Plus it's good for free-range chickens to know where home is by knowing that's where their water and food supply is.
