If you can only get 10 Marans which ones?

So for all you Marans owners if you could only get 10 Marans which ones would you get? How many of each and please include Roosters so you can get your own offspring if wanted to.

Here are the choices:
Black Copper
Wheaton
Blue
Splash
( didn't include white or black ? unless ?)

it really depends what you are looking for. If you want great egg color some colors are better. Also, it is personal preference. I would have to know whose lines are connected to each color. Some have *better* colors than others and work more on certain colors than the other colors. I think the wheaten has the most striking roo markings

I would get just the wheaton, cause I LOVE them, I dont like the blues and splash, Im not fond of the BC, BUT I LOVE the wheatons.

If I could get my hands on some good quality feather shanked wheatons, they would be my choice but I have been unable to do so. I do have some nice Black Coppers and I love them but the wheatons are just so pretty

Yes, the salmon blues are beautiful birds.

I would do Wheatons or Black Copper and my blacks are really nice and they lay really dark eggs so I like all those.

I dont have any Black Copper, but I have been researching this. Instead of the Cuckoos , that I have begun with , I would have go with the Black Copper's. More breeders seem to have birds that produce the right color eggs in this variety than many of the others.

I was more interested in egg coloring than looks, so that's another choice you have to make.

If you are more interested in feathering , you might choose another breed because Marans seem to be pretty expensive.

but BLUE is my favorite chicken color... i think i NEED to have some BLUE MARANS

If you have Blue Marans you will also get black and splash. So you would have different colors. I think the Birchin Marans are gorgeous. As are Black Coppers and Wheatons.
